My Path to UX/UI Design

Now

Ever since I was a child, I had a passion for art and design. In fact, I had a small business selling my illustrations in high school. I draw a lot of my inspiration from art nouvea and renaissance art, giving an ethereal, elegant, and classy style to my designs.

I graduated from The College of New Jersey with a bachelors of Psychology and a Masters of Special Education. Although my intent when entering college was to become a teacher, I had a strong pull towards research and contributing to the field in a larger scope.

It was an easy choice, however, to still want to contribute to helping people with disabilities, which led me to my current work as a Research Coordinator for Kessler Foundation's Spinal Cord Injury.

Still, something was missing...

My heart still belonged to art and now, more than ever, I was determined to blend my three passions together - psychology, special education, and design. This led me to UX/UI and I've been so passionate ever since.

Not only am I able to apply my research skills, I am also to take my experience from working with children with assistive technology AND even work express myself creatively?! It seemed like a dream come true.

I truly pour my heart and soul into every project, using my sensitivity and empathy to make designs to accommodate everyone, no matter what ability and I hope it shows.

I keep a picture of my child self in my wallet to remind myself of how far I've come and how proud mini me would've been if she knew she's found a career that sets her heart on fire.
